Post-Summer Selling Season Delivers Ninth Straight Month of Gains
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) — At the end of the third quarter, Indiana existing-home contract signings are up 2.8 percent (1,868 sales) over 2016. This according to the Indiana Real Estate Markets Report released by the state’s Realtors®.
Statewide year-over-year comparisons (Q1-3 2017 vs, Q1-3 2016) show:
- The number of pending home sales increased 2.1% to 68,843
- Average sales price of homes increased 5.2% to $175,310
- The number of new listings decreased 2.0% to 89,345
“At September’s end, statewide home sales and prices have gained on last year despite persistently lean inventory in many markets,” said Vallonia’s Cheryl Stuckwish, 2017 President of the Indiana Association of Realtors® (IAR). “Buyers should be reassured that although inventory remains limited, there are still many great housing options available.”
