At the half-way mark of 2015, housing well on the way of outperforming 2014

(Indianapolis, IN - Indiana Association of Realtors®) – The 9,080 homes sold statewide in June is a 16.5 percent increase from the same month of last year. This is according to the monthly Indiana Real Estate Markets Report today released by REALTORS®

The rest of the year-over-year comparison from the report shows housing outperformed June 2014 in all measures except inventory:

  • The number of pending home sales increased 8.5% to 7,911
  • The percent of original list price received increased 0.7% to 95.3%
  • The average days on market through June was 93 days
  • The inventory of homes for sale decreased 7.6 percent to 40,731

It’s been nine years since we’ve seen activity and pricing at these levels,” said Bruce Bright, 2015 President of the Indiana Association of REALTORS®. “Despite a continued lack of inventory and increasing prices, consumers all across the state see the opportunities that low interest rates present and are confident about housing as an investment.”

The year-to-date comparison from the report shows that at the half-way mark of 2015, housing is well on the way of outperforming 2014.
