Fort Wayne, Indiana's Riverfront has clinched the 7th spot in the U.S. for the best riverwalks.
This honor was awarded through a panel of experts and public votes published by USA Today. The Fort Wayne Riverfront is located in downtown Fort Wayne at the convergence of the St. Joseph, St. Marys, and Maumee rivers. It is the current focal point of urban rejuvenation in the downtown district and features scenic Promenade Park, festival favorite Headwaters Park, and the sprawling Rivergreenway Trail.
The Fort Wayne Riverfront provides many recreational opportunities, including kayak and canoe rentals, boat and Segway tours, and a seasonal ice skating rink. The area also has a playground, food trucks, and a concert amphitheater, ensuring visitors have ample entertainment while enjoying the natural and urban scenery.
Phase II of the Riverfront Development is currently in construction, and it will enhance this vital area with even more amenities. New additions, like a tree canopy trail, extra boat docks, and a hammock grove, will further boost the Riverfront's attractiveness and future economic prospects.
